The first LTTA was organized by Constantine the Philosopher university in Nitra (SK), but held the premises of the Galant Hotel in Lednice (CZ) as it was planned mainly for Slovak and Czech participants and Lednice is conveniently situated for all four project partners as to the distance to travel. A total of 31 university staff (out of which 27 were from Slovak and Czech universities and 2 from Eger university, HU and 2 from Novi Sad university, RS) took part in the training, in line with the project application. The expert staff participating in the training event were mostly experienced university subject methodology teachers, who supervise teaching practice of students and have long-term communication with mentor teachers in primary and secondary schools, strong commitment to their work, willingness to learn. The training was aimed to actively contribute to the success of the project outputs.

The first day of the training was arrival day for its participants and consultation day for project partners with the project coordinator, Prof. Zdenka Gadusova, about the vital issues of the project and discussing the running of the training during the following days. For training participants, it officially started with business dinner to introduce the participants to each other and to elicit informal discussion, support exchange of experience and get to know all the community of the participants better in order to facilitate teamwork during the training.

The second day of the training started with presentation of the MENTRA project, its aims and achievements. She also briefly presented the training programme. In the morning the training was delivered by qualified UKF staff (SK) and in the afternoon - by the expert staff from Ostrava University (CZ). As regards the choice of training tasks, the trainers focused on the two modules from the textbook produced in the project - Relationship between mentor and mentee and Fundamentals of mentoring.

The activities of the third day of the training were provided by colleagues from UJS in Komarno (SK) and University of Economics and Business in Prague (CZ). The focus of trainers was on two topics from the developed course-book - Process of novice teachers' professional socialization, development of career identity and Supporting the development of student self-assessment and reflective thinking.

On the fourth day, participants evaluated the training, gave their opinion about the training and the tasks presented, as well as their delivery. The training workshops were interactive, based on team work and developing creative thinking and inventiveness of the participants. The participants also filled in a questionnaire to provide feedback on the results of the project, training activities and expressed also suggestions for improvement.

The overall evaluation of the training was very positive. The participants expressed their satisfaction with the training. They actively participated in the training activities and learned the ways of their delivery. New professional contacts were established and the older ones deepened. Thanks to the training, the participants gained new knowledge and skills, improved their existing knowledge and prepared themselves for the training of mentor teachers in the planned CPD courses for in-service teachers. The CPD Mentor Training Courses, after their accreditation in line with national legislation, will be delivered in the respective partner universities. In this way the training event contributed to the achievement of the overall project aims and objectives as well as to overall quality of the project outputs.
